Who We Are?
After spending 25+ years as a manager within the world Retail Distribution, Glenn Hatton realized that the work world in 2020 was painfully missing two things: Common Sense and Good Work Ethics. Glenn was raised in Rural Kentucky working on the family farm that consisted of raising Tobacco and a Dairy Operation. Growing up in that world quickly taught him you had to be willing to work to survive and you often must make do with what is available to you rather than waiting for better days to come. As an adult, Glenn applied his farm logic to his work life and quickly rose to success as a young manager working in Retail Distribution Centers during the 1990’s and 2000’s.
Glenn took the lessons from his childhood and advice from a few mentors along the way to forge a successful career while raising two daughters as a single father. Glenn is now taking his perspectives and insights on being a manager to the literary world with his first book: So You Want To Be A Manager? Glenn hopes to reach “soon to be” managers or leaders to provide them with some inside knowledge of what to expect once they start down their own path. This book will also be useful to current managers looking for ways to expand their careers to the next level.
Glenn plans to follow up with a series of books based on his own life experiences. They will cover life on the farm during the Farm Crisis of the 1980’s and how building good relationships is a key to maintaining a healthy life. Glenn will also offer the perspectives he gained from spending all those years being a part-time therapist for the individuals he managed, whether he wanted to be one or not. Life goes by quickly and can change in an instant. Glenn hopes his writings will help others take a moment to embrace what is around them while applying logic and reason to the choices they make while on their own life paths.
