I founded Coach Wizard to help people tackle career challenges and boost their careers to the next level.
After a successful career in the public, private and university sectors in Europe and North America, and as a senior executive for 12+ years, I saw the need for individual career coaching, leadership competency development, change management training and team-building.
I would be happy to share my experience, skills and knowledge with you – including what I learned from my mistakes. I can equip you to reach your goals, whatever they are – from simply improving your performance or becoming a more skilled mid-level manager, to preparing you to be a 21st century executive or C-level leader.
My coaching approach is based on three guiding principles:
- full confidentiality
- a deep understanding of your challenges
- prioritizing, building and realizing an action plan
A coaching relationship works only when it’s built on trust, so I tend to get to know my clients well, starting from our first contact.

About Alex
Alex Vukovic is recognized as a transformational leader, passionate listener, agent of change, consensus builder, world-wide speaker and university professor. His experience leading organizations and multidisciplinary teams spans the public and private sectors and academia.
He has expertise in career mentoring, executive coaching, leadership development, partnership building, change management, organizational redesign and efficiency. His work in Europe, North America and Asia has given him an understanding of intercultural differences – he promotes diversity and develops his clients’ inclusivity competencies.
Alex’s passion for developing careers and for mentoring provides his clients with skills, motivation and wisdom to reach executive levels and then grow and thrive. His executive coaching palette is broad, ranging from interview preparation, profile evaluation and psychological testing, to delivering productive feedback and teaching negotiating and time management skills.
He arms executives-to-be with the courage to tackle challenging topics, inspires new behaviours and equips teams to reach their potential. Alex believes executives can learn to better respond to stress at work – and to say NO to, and deal with, narcissistic bosses. He believes leaders can learn to excel during times of crisis.
Much of Alex’s executive experience was gained in the private sector (Nortel, Johnson Controls) and the federal government. He was a vice-president at Communications Research Centre Canada (Wireless Networks & Systems), part of Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada. He has advised senior executives, policy-makers, and leaders of technology, innovation and R&D organizations, federal regulators and start-ups.
Alex has a Ph.D. in applied science and completed an executive program at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. After joining the federal public service as an entry-level employee, it took Alex just eight years to reach vice-president. He enjoys sharing his successes as well as learning from his setbacks and failures.
Alex enjoys spending time with his family; pursuing outdoor activities such as running, biking, basketball, tennis and skiing; travelling; and playing piano. He speaks several languages fluently. He is married and has two grown children (a lawyer and a doctor, both still enjoying Dad’s “coaching” after 20+ years).
