Rolyat’s Journey
WORK LIFE
Rolyat Mosi was born down South in Louisiana and grew up in California during the mid-1950s to the 1970s. He was tied into a deeply Baptist faith family and was much loved by his family. He had eight siblings that he grew up with and friends all over the Watts area of Los Angeles, California.
Rolyat went to Jordan High School after the 1965 Riot in the so called LA Ghetto and then on to college. He left the state for Texas and then returned to finish at a UC Campus. He then left the State of California for grad school and never returned again to live there.
Before leaving California, Rolyat had worked for LA Unified School District, CBS Television, the US Post Office, UC Admin, Orange County, City of Fountain Valley, and Crawford’s Printing on 103rd Street in the Watts area.
After graduate School, Rolyat worked for Salt Lake County, The Boeing Company, Aramco Oil Company, and the City of Houston. Rolyat also consulted in various areas of knowledge and operated Ujima Consultants with the community-oriented software package known as UjimaSuites.
Now, Rolyat just writes, gardens, does his creative graphics, and takes pictures. He is filled with a energy for crafting words into interesting narratives that twist the mind.
